Q: Is it ok to put a filler extension on the top of the fuel cell? It is difficult to see into the cell to determine when it is full.
A: NO.. This is a safety issue. Here is what we do.. We use a funnel that is flat on one side. It will rest on the foam, depressing the rollover flap and sits nicely in the trunk opening. When you see the fuel is at the top of the foam, slow down your flow.

Q: What is the fuel line size for the new bladder replacement? It comes with a 6 and a 8.
A: The line size is a 6.

Q: When you say “You will need to race 5 Regional Races”, do both Saturday and Sunday races on a given weekend count as two races or will just the Saturday race count?
A: You are referring to the BGRRNC Region National Championship...
You will need to submit the NASA official results from any (8 ) eight,
(increased it from 6 to 8) "BG" races from any NASA Regional Event. If your region has a separate race each day, Saturday and Sunday, then they each qualify as a race.  The official results from each race must be submitted by December 15th of each year.  The Champion will be announced BY JAN 1ST  and the Champion recognized at their NASA Regions Awards Banquet.

I have purchased a Baby Grand that has a shock absorber style upper rear end link instead of a fixed link. Which is best for road racing, the fixed or the absorber?
It is illegal! Read  our rule 23.1.. below.
The purpose of a top link shock absorber is to "Soften the Torque Reaction". This only would apply to High Horsepower Cars.. The Baby Grand is the opposite.. You want as much Torque Reaction as Possible!! Put Her back!!  and you both will be happier!

23.1 Only a Winter's Mini-Stock Quick-Change rear end can be used. Any ring and pinion ratio offered

by Winter's Mfg. may be used. Any spur gear set as listed on the BABY GRAND HOLDINGS. parts list

may be used. Limited Slips, Detroit Lockers, or aftermarket differentials are prohibited.

All rear end components must meet the specifications of the original equipment. Panhard bar, axle

bracket, top link, and trailing arms must remain in stock form, in stock location, other than normal

adjustments for chassis set-up.

Who will be the officials that will be monitoring rules, violations, tech inspections?
NASA will be our common denominator in this National Series. Each of the NASA Regions will use our Baby Grand National Road Race Challenge Specification Rule Book to regulate compliance. At each Point Event, NASA Officials will be given a mandatory tech list for at least the top three finishers. It will be different each event.

How will this new division be structured?
It will be an entirely new series separate from previous Baby Grand Road Racing series. Racers will join NASA and will compete for the Baby Grand National Road Race Challenge Championship in addition to various local and regional NASA titles.
How will the points system work?

Each NASA region nationwide will hold events as regional qualifier races.  These events will all be posted on the NASA Region's website.  Our Road Racing members can compete in as many of these regional qualifier races as they want. Timing and scoring will be consistently handled by each NASA Region.

Please note: You will need to race in 5  NASA regional road races in order to qualify for the nationals at Mid Ohio in September. We also need a minimum of 5 BG to enter prior to September to guarantee a spot in the national....

What will the rules be for this new series?

The Baby Grand National Road Racing Challenge specifications can be seen under RULES.

Who will operate the events?
NASA .These events will be run consistently  by NASA officials.

Why NASA?
NASA is the Host Organization who provides us with all that it takes to put on a road race event. Track, insurance, course workers, registration, timing and scoring, safety equipment, etc.
NASA is a established national school and race organization. They are the only organization that can provide us with the consistency we need to name a National Champion while only running in regional events.
NASA membership is $35.00 Per year
www.nasaproracing.com  to sign up

What will the class designation be?
BG

What about entry fees, purses, etc.
The entry fee for the NASA events has changed slightly since November 04.. All NASA Road Racers will be required to enter for the weekend.  Approx entry cost is $275.00.
Purses: In road racing, it is not customary to include event "Purses".
Event awards will be given by NASA for their BG Class.  As sponsorship is acquired for our program the announcements will be made. Sponsorship  comes in the form of Hospitality, contingency awards, event awards and the National Championship awards.

How will this help to increase the number of Baby Grand road racers?

There is always strength in numbers.  No one disputes that Baby Grands make tremendous road racing cars but with only one or two showing up at any one event, they seemed more like a novelty than a serious option.  We hope that by encouraging our members to group together at specific events, we can see higher car counts which will attract much more serious attention from other racers.

What about when Baby Grands are run with several different types of cars at the same time?

We will only count our Baby Grand National Road Race Challenge  NASA members in the race.  As such, if there are 40 cars competing, but only 6 are Road Racing Baby Grand racers, we will treat that as a race among 6 cars. NASA will give the BG Class a separate rolling green start in their group. Which group and BG placement in the group is determined by each NASA Region. The Group and Start is subject to many factors, but safety is key.

How long will the season be?

The season will run from Jan 1 - December.

Will I also have to join NASA?

Yes,  The membership fee is $35.00. you can join at www.nasaproracing.com .
See NASA Membership benefits http://www.nasaproracing.com/aboutnasa/member_benefits.html
